How do we have boldness and access to God?
Believers have boldness and access to God in Christ, because when a person is a believer, he is part and parcel of Christ Himself. In Christ, this boldness and access come by faith in Him, in line with God's eternal purpose purposed in Christ Jesus.
Les explains that verse 11 continues the thought of the manifold wisdom of God and points to the eternal purpose. When you see the word "eternal," it takes you back to eternity past, before anything was created—before there was a heaven, the first angel, or the first star. From that eternity past, God had His purposes for you and me, for the human race, and purposed them in Christ Jesus our Lord. Then verse 12 says "in whom": when you're a believer, you're part and parcel of Christ Himself. In Christ, believers have boldness and access by faith in Him.
