What did Jesus say Saul was chosen to do?

Jesus told Ananias that Saul of Tarsus was a chosen vessel unto Him, to bear His name before the Gentiles. This was spoken from heaven while Ananias was in Damascus, showing Saul's mission to carry Jesus' name to Gentile audiences.

Les explains that in verse 15, Ananias in Damascus is being spoken to by the Lord Jesus from heaven. Jesus says, 'Go thy way, for he, Saul of Tarsus, is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before thee Gentiles.' Les points out that this is a truth people have never seen before, because Jesus never ministered to Gentiles during His earthly ministry, with one or two exceptions, and many get shook up and try to find excuses that He must have gone to Gentiles. Les challenges, 'show me in the Scripture, show me where He had any concert with Gentiles.' The context also shows Saul had authority to bind all that call on Jesus' name, but now he is chosen to bear that name to Gentiles.
