What is the difference between the first Adam and the last Adam?
Scripture contrasts the first Adam as a living soul, earthy, and head of the natural human race; through his sin death entered. The last Adam is a life-giving spirit, the Lord from heaven, the spiritual second man, and the head who imparts life instead of death.
Les teaches that these are two federal heads. The first man, Adam, was made a living soul; he is earthy and heads the natural progeny of the human race. Through Adam sin entered, and sin precipitated death. The last Adam, called the second man, is a quickening or life-giving spirit, the Lord from heaven, and the spiritual one who comes afterward. Les emphasizes comparing Scripture with Scripture, especially I Corinthians 15:45-46, to show how life is brought back to the human race.
And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.
