Was Jesus Christ a created being or the Creator?
Jesus Christ was not a created being but the Creator Himself. The second man is not created; He is the Lord from heaven. He was God, is God, the Creator and Sustainer of the whole universe, and losing sight of this makes the Gospel a farce.
Les explains that verse 47 describes the first man as of the earth, earthy, created from the dust. By contrast, the second man is not a created being but the Lord Himself from heaven. Les stresses that Christ was not just another created being; He was the Creator Himself. He was God, is God, the Creator, and the Sustainer of the whole universe. Les says we must never lose sight of that, because otherwise the Gospel is a farce. He is who He says He is—the Lord from heaven. Les also ties this to Genesis 1.1, where in the beginning God created heaven and earth, so everything in Scripture connects either to the earthy or the heavenly: Israel becomes the earthy, and the Church becomes the heavenly.
The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.
