Why does the world miss the plan of salvation?
The world misses the plan of salvation because it cannot believe that eternal salvation and the hope of glory come by doing nothing. The door is at ground level, simple and in front of every person, requiring only belief to enter. Yet people find it hard to accept God's demand for simple faith, as Abraham was justified without works.
Les explains that the door to the sheepfold is not on a sheer cliff where ropes and climbing gear are needed, nor across a roaring river requiring a boat or raft, nor across the ocean requiring wealth to buy a ticket. Instead, the plan of salvation's door is on ground level, in front of every human being. All anyone must do is believe it and enter in. It is narrow, but the way in is so simple. The world misses it because people cannot believe that you can have eternal salvation and the hope of all that glory by doing nothing. Yet that is what God demands, and that is what we learn in the Book of Romans. Abraham did nothing, and yet he was justified in the same way with us.
