Did the plow boys in England need much education for the Bible to feed them?

No. The plow boys of England had virtually no education—perhaps only enough to read. That minimal literacy was sufficient for Scripture to feed a hungry heart, which is why Tyndale wanted a copy of the Scriptures in the hands of every plow boy.

Les explains that Tyndale, one of the reformers, wanted a copy of the Scriptures in the hands of every plow boy in England. Asked how much education plow boys had, the answer is none, probably just enough to read. Yet that was sufficient for the Word of God to feed a hungry heart. This shows the Word itself, not human learning or a gifted speaker, is what matters; the same Word is now available to anybody.
