How was the woman created out of the man according to the creation account?

According to the creation account, God originally created Adam with Eve within him. Later, God took that part of Eve out of Adam and created the woman from it, making Adam complete and no longer alone. This order established man as head. She was not called Eve until after the fall.

Les explains that God created Adam with Eve within him, and then sometime later, He took that part of Eve out of Adam and created the woman. This made Adam complete, no longer alone. Les connects this to Paul's teaching that the order of the sexes originated at creation, not as a modern phenomenon. God ordained man as head of the woman because she was created next, a format for the home and family that holds to this day because God never rescinded it. Les stresses this does not make man a slave master; the wife is a helpmate and complement. Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 11:12 that the woman is of the man, and the man also by the woman.
