What did God say He would make for Adam?
The Lord God declared it was not good for the man to be alone and said, "I will make a helpmeet for him." This helpmeet was a mate for Adam, because among the animals no mate was found for him. The Lord God spoke these words in Genesis chapter two.
Les teaches that in Genesis chapter 2, verse 18, God said it is not good that the man should be alone, and He would make a helpmeet for him. Then in verse 19, God formed every beast out of the ground and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them, and Adam named them. Verse 20 states that for Adam there was not found a helpmeet or a mate for him. Les imagines Adam seeing all the creatures come by, male and female with their mates, and after a long time Adam almost got a lonely feeling and asked, "Now Lord why?" So God's solution was to make a helpmeet for Adam.
And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.
