What made Jesus' crucifixion different from other crucifixions?

Jesus’ crucifixion was not unique merely as a crucifixion, since thousands suffered that death. It was unique because the One crucified was the Creator God Himself in human flesh, and on that cross God poured out His wrath for sin, judging all sin from Adam to the last person and finalizing the sin debt.

Les explains that Christ’s death by crucifixion was not just another crucifixion, because there were thousands of such executions. What made it unique is that the One on the cross was the Creator God Himself, who took on human flesh. On that cross God poured out all His wrath for sin. All sin from Adam until the last person ever to live in time was laid on Christ, and God judged it. Because of that, even the vilest lost sinner’s sins are already atoned for and paid for; the only sin that brings eternal doom is rejecting the Gospel. The sin debt was finalized once and for all.
