Les Feldick Bible Study

What does Les stress about keeping priorities?

He stresses that we must keep our priorities straight, tempering physical appetites with spiritual matters that are far more important. Many people mean well but have their priorities upside down, and when priorities are inverted, spiritual concerns are subordinated. The lesson from Jesus' temptation is that God's word takes precedence over bodily hunger.

Les teaches that keeping priorities straight means not allowing physical appetites to dominate. He points to Matthew 4, where Jesus had fasted forty days in the wilderness and the devil tempted Him to turn stones into bread. Jesus answered, "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God." Les says he has stressed to his own children, to other people, to himself, and to his wife that we have to keep our priorities straight. He observes that many people mean well but get their priorities upside down.
