Who is our great High Priest who has passed into the heavens?

Jesus the Son of God is our great High Priest who has passed into the heavens. He presented His own blood, fulfilling the priesthood of Melchizedek, and He can be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, remaining constantly aware of our moment-by-moment existence.

Les points to Hebrews 4:14-16, explaining that believers will face temptation every day and must learn to hang on to God's promises. The text says we have a great High Priest who has passed into the heavens, and Les reminds us that Christ presented His own blood, as studied in John chapter 20, fulfilling the priesthood of Melchizedek, the High Priest of all. Les emphasizes that this High Priest is Jesus the Son of God, so we should hold fast our profession because He is constantly aware of our moment-by-moment existence. Unlike a high priest who cannot be touched, He can be touched with the feeling of our infirmities.

Hebrews 4:14

Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.
