What can separate us from the love of God?
Scripture declares that neither death, nor life, angels, principalities, powers, things present, things to come, height, depth, nor any other creature can separate believers from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus. Because they are under the blood of Christ, no power on earth or in heaven can remove them from that protection.
Les explains that in Romans 8, beginning at verse 37, Paul says believers are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. Paul is persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus. Les connects this to the Passover night in Egypt: just as the Jewish family was safe because the blood was on the door, and the death angel could not touch the firstborn, so those who have had the blood of Christ applied are safe—nothing can touch them. Why? Because we are under the blood, and no power on earth or in heaven can take us from under that blood protection. As surely as the Israelites were safe in Egypt, believers are safe today, a beautiful security.
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
