What cannot separate us from the love of God?

Neither principalities nor powers, nor life, nor death can separate us from the love of God. This assurance closes Romans chapter 8, and Romans 12:1 begins with 'therefore,' linking the believer's security in God's love to what Paul just finished in chapter 8.

Les explains that Romans chapter 8 ends with great verses of assurance: Christ died for us, God is for us, no one can be against us, and neither principalities nor powers can keep us from the love of God. He then shows how Romans 12:1 provides the other side of a parenthesis, beginning with 'I beseech you therefore.' The 'therefore' points back to what Paul just finished in chapter 8, so that neither principalities nor powers nor life nor death can separate us from the love of God.
