Can anything separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus?

No. Paul writes in Romans 8 that neither principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature—meaning nothing in all creation, demonic or angelic—shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus.

Les explains that Romans 8 declares neither principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus. The word creature refers to all of creation, so nothing created—whether demonic or righteous angelic—can take us out of that love. This connects with Ephesians, where the conflict is not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers whose authority is Satan, who frustrates believers and keeps lost humanity in darkness until God breaks it. God opens hearts and gives understanding through the Holy Spirit. Les then turns to John’s Gospel to see what Jesus Himself said.
