Did the Corinthians ask Paul if it was right for men and women to marry?

Yes. The Corinthian believers sent Paul a letter containing a whole batch of questions, and one of those questions concerned whether marriage was proper for men and women. Paul was answering these questions one by one. They had recently come out of paganism and lacked the New Testament, so they sought his guidance.

Les teaches that the Corinthian letter was prompted by a letter of questions, a whole batch of questions plaguing these Corinthian believers just recently out of paganism. They had no Sunday school, catechism, or New Testament Scriptures, so they wrote to the apostle Paul. In chapter 7, verse 1, Paul says, “Now concerning the things that you wrote unto me,” and then he answers them one by one. One question was, “Is it right for men and women to marry?” So yes, that was among the questions they asked Paul.

1 Corinthians 7:1

Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman.
