How much exposure to the Scriptures does our society have compared to the Corinthians?
Our society has significant exposure to Scripture; many have attended Sunday school or catechism, learning some Bible truths. The Corinthians, however, had no such exposure. They knew nothing of God, Adam, Abraham, Moses, or the Law, being pagan idol worshippers with no biblical background at all.
Les explains that while a good percentage of people in our society have had at least some exposure to the Scriptures—perhaps through Sunday school as children or denominational catechism—the Corinthians had none. They knew absolutely nothing of the things of God, nothing of Adam, Abraham, Moses and the Law. They were pagan idol worshippers, as seen in the ruins of Corinth with its temple to the goddesses.
