Is any person less likely to fall into sin than another?
No. Every human being is just as prone to fall into sin as the next one, because all are human. Even church leaders can be taken in sin. While spiritual teaching and spiritual keeping may help prevent falls, it can happen to anybody.
Les explains that Galatians 6:1 instructs the spiritual to restore a person caught in a fall in a spirit of meekness, lest even church leaders be taken in just as great a sin. He stresses that all are human, and every human being is just as prone to fall into sin as the next one. While being spiritually taught and spiritually kept may prevent these things, it can still happen to anybody. Les then notes John’s distinction that some sins do not cause God to take a believer out of physical life, but some He will. A believer who refuses to come away from a sinful lifestyle, despite being dealt with, may suddenly die—through a heart attack or car accident—and God takes them home lest they keep bringing reproach to His name. This is the sin unto death, and a believer can come to that place. Yet no believer or church body has the right to pray for the death of an erring believer; that is never permissible and is in God’s hands.
Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.
