How did the Corinthians come out of their pagan darkness?

The Corinthians came out of pagan darkness because Paul brought them the gospel, entering Corinth first with the message of salvation. He delivered what he received from the ascended Lord: that Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again the third day.

Les explains that the Corinthians had come out of their pagan darkness because Paul brought them the gospel. Paul was the one who entered Corinth for the first time with this message of salvation; others followed, but he made the first opening in that wicked city. Paul defends his apostleship, noting he did not pick this up from the twelve in Jerusalem but received this gospel from the ascended Lord in glory. That is why this gospel cannot be found in the four gospels—Christ had not yet died. Paul delivered first of all what he also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, and was seen of Peter and the twelve.
