What did Solomon's temple foreshadow about believers today?
Solomon's temple foreshadowed that every believer becomes a temple, a dwelling place of God. Just as the Shekinah glory filled Solomon's temple in Jerusalem, the Holy Spirit comes into the believer the moment they believe, indwelling them. This makes the believer's body the temple of the indwelling Holy Spirit.
Les explains that Solomon's temple in Jerusalem was built as the dwelling place of God, and when it was dedicated, the presence of God in the Shekinah glory came down into that temple. He says this was just a fore view of the age of grace, where when God saves an individual, that person immediately becomes a temple, a dwelling place. Just like the Shekinah glory came into Solomon's temple, the Holy Spirit comes into us. Les also teaches that every believer receives the Spirit the moment he believes, so you cannot check God at the door; this body is the temple of the indwelling Holy Spirit, and God knows every thought, every place, and everything we do because He is here.
