Why couldn't the Corinthian church get anything done?

The Corinthian church could not accomplish anything because it lacked unity. Competing factions followed Paul, Apollos, Peter, and Jesus Himself, causing constant bickering centered on individual men rather than the Word of God and the crucified One. This disunity disrupted their work.

Les explains that there were four groups in the Corinthian church: those who followed Paul, those who followed Apollos, those who followed Peter, and those who followed Jesus Himself. This division wreaked havoc in the church because there was no unity. They could not get anything done because of the constant bickering, and their bickering was all centered on an individual man. Les then asks how many churches today are caught up in that same problem, and he urges believers not to set their eyes on the man but to set their eyes on the Word of God and on the crucified One, the One who died for them and rose from the dead.
