Did the prophecy of old time come by the will of man?

No. The prophecy, or the speaking forth of God's Word, did not come in the old time by the will of man. Scripture states it came not by man's will, even though it went back to the Old Testament writers. It was not of private interpretation.

Les teaches from verse 21 that the prophecy, or the speaking forth of God's Word, came not in the old time by the will of man. That goes back to the Old Testament writers. Les also explains that no giving forth of the Word, or Scripture, is of any private interpretation; it is not all wrapped up in just one verse. God was not dealing with third graders but with adults, who have the ability to search the Scriptures by comparing Scripture with Scripture from Genesis to Revelation. Therefore, Les begs people not to build their eternal destiny on one verse, but on a series of doctrines and teachings that fit from cover to cover.

2 Peter 1:21

For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
