Les Feldick Bible Study

Why didn't God make the Bible simpler to understand?

God did not make the Bible simpler because He was not dealing with third graders; He deals with adults who can search the Scriptures by comparing Scripture with Scripture. No truth is wrapped up in a single verse, so God expects diligent study from Genesis to Revelation, building doctrine cover to cover.

Les explains that Scripture is not of any private interpretation and that nothing God sent forth for the human race is all wrapped up in just one verse. That is why many get hung up on the Bible and ask why God did not make it plainer or simpler. But God knew He was not dealing with third graders; He deals with adults and knows they have the ability to search the Scriptures. That search is done by comparing Scripture with Scripture from Genesis to Revelation, which puts a person on as solid a rock as possible. Les urges people to search the Scriptures rather than go by what he says. Peter makes it plain: do not build your eternal destiny on one verse or you will end up in the wrong place. Instead, build on a series of doctrines and teachings that fit from cover to cover. The prophecy or speaking forth of God's Word did not come in old time by the will of man.
