How has God revealed the things prepared for believers to them?

God has revealed the things prepared for believers by His Spirit, the Holy Spirit. The Spirit communicates these truths to believers from the Word of God, giving them a concept of what eternity holds, including the coming city of gold and Christ's glorious reign.

Les explains that verse 10 presents a contrast: these things were not revealed to the heart of man generally, but they have been revealed to the believer. While the unbelieving world has no idea what awaits, believers do have a concept of what eternity holds. They know there is a great city of gold where they will one day live, and a glorious reign of Christ on this earth in which they will take part. God has revealed these good things to us, speaking on behalf of believers, by His Spirit, the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the one who communicates these things to us from the Word of God. Les also expresses concern that many are not receiving in-depth preaching or teaching from the Word; it is shallow, and even much Sunday School material, good as it may be, does not get into the deep things. Paul admonishes that we must let the Holy Spirit take us into the deep things of God's Word.

1 Corinthians 2:10

But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
