What groups in the Corinthian church followed Apollos and Paul?

Within the Corinthian church, one group adhered to Apollos, while another remained true to Paul, the founder of their congregation. These factions existed alongside those loyal to Peter and those who claimed to follow Christ, showing the divisions present in that congregation.

Les explains that the Corinthian church was divided into factions. Some believers, who he feels must have been Jews, were more prone to adhere to Peter because Peter was the epitome of the Jew under the kingdom economy, even though Peter never had a ministry among the Gentiles according to Scripture. Another group adhered to Apollos, and another remained true to Paul as the founder of their congregation. A fourth group claimed to follow Christ rather than Paul, Apollos, or Peter. Les notes the same argument appears today when people refuse Paul's epistles and say they follow only what Jesus said, though Jesus spoke to the Jew under the law.
