Did Peter ever visit Corinth?

Yes, Peter did stop by Corinth, according to the transcript, though he may not have spent a lot of time there, perhaps on his way to Rome. Peter never had a ministry among the Gentiles according to Scripture; Corinthian believers' attachment to him reflected their Jewish heritage and comfort with Peter.

Les explains that Peter may not have spent a lot of time in Corinth, but he has no doubt Peter stopped by Corinth on his way to Rome or wherever. Les stresses that Peter never had a ministry, and specifically never had a ministry among the Gentiles according to Scripture. The Corinthian believers who favored Peter were likely Jewish believers, whom Paul calls elect, and they had an affinity for Peter because he epitomized the Jew under the kingdom economy. They were comfortable with Peter, causing division in the church: some adhered to Peter, some to Apollos, some to Paul, and some said they followed Christ. Les compares this to people today who reject Paul's epistles and claim they follow Jesus.
