How did Aquila and Priscilla learn the doctrines of grace?

Aquila and Priscilla learned the doctrines of grace through prolonged personal association with Paul in the tent-making business. As they worked together, Paul repeatedly impressed these truths upon them, so they were thoroughly instructed in the grace message before encountering Apollos at Ephesus.

Les explains that Aquila and Priscilla had spent a long time with Paul in the tent-making business, and Paul drummed the doctrines of grace into them. Unlike Paul, whose knowledge came by revelation and inspiration, they were instructed by a human teacher. Thus, when Apollos came to Ephesus knowing only the baptism of John and the kingdom gospel, they had already been grounded in the grace message and could hear him speak boldly in the synagogue.

Acts 18:26

And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly.
