How could carnal Corinthian believers be counted blameless before God if the Lord came suddenly?

Carnal Corinthian believers could be counted blameless before God if the Lord came suddenly on the basis of the work of the cross and the shed blood of Christ. God would reckon them blameless on that basis, even though the accuser brought accusations against the brethren day and night.

Les explains that the apostle, by inspiration, told these carnal Corinthian believers that if the Lord should suddenly come, so far as God was concerned, they would be blameless. The question is asked, “On what basis could God do that?” and the answer is the work of the cross and the shed blood of Christ. Les then turns to Revelation chapter 12, where at the midpoint of the tribulation, the final seven years, there will be a great war in heaven. Satan and his angels fight against Michael and the other angels, are defeated, and are cast out. Verse 10 announces that salvation, strength, the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come; only three and a half years remain until Christ returns to set up His kingdom. The accuser of the brethren is cast down, who accused them before God day and night. Les notes the devil is still accusing every time a believer sins, but the believer’s comfort remains the work of the cross and the shed blood of Christ.
