Why is nothing forced upon believers under grace?

Under grace, nothing is forced because grace is not law. Since believers are under grace and not under law, God does not compel them by law's demands. All of God's grace is experienced the moment they believe, and from that position they grow in grace, not into grace. That freedom is the beauty of grace.

Les explains that grace is not law, and because believers are under grace rather than law, nothing is forced upon them. He notes that every person saved by God's grace experiences all of God's grace at the moment of belief, though they still have a long way to go in growth. Like the Corinthians saved out of paganism, they need nurturing and growth, but that growth happens only by God's grace. We grow in grace; we do not grow into grace. From that position in grace we grow and grow as God intends, and the beauty of grace is that it does not force us.
