What does Les think of the apostle Paul?
The apostle Paul is held next to Christ Himself as the greatest human being ever to walk this planet. Every New Testament manuscript preserves Paul's epistles in the same order, which reinforces that high esteem. This consistency, unlike other New Testament books, sets Paul apart.
Les teaches that he is always lifting Paul somewhat over the rest of the writers, because he feels Paul is next to Christ Himself, the greatest human being that ever walked this planet. He finds reinforcement in the fact that of all the New Testament manuscripts still in museums and libraries, Paul's epistles — Romans, Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, and so forth — are always present and always in the same identical order as in our Bible today. That is not the order in which they were written: Thessalonians were written first, Galatians was written before, and even Corinthians, he thinks, was written before Romans. Les says this unique consistency puts the frosting on the cake.
