Les Feldick Bible Study

Why does Les focus so much on the Apostle Paul?

He focuses on Paul because Paul claims to be the Apostle of the Gentiles, and his writings supply most of Christendom's basic doctrine. Though many dismiss or detest Paul, understanding what this apostle says is foundational to salvation and the Christian experience, especially the indwelling Christ for the Gentile believer.

Les explains that he has made a lot of Paul and makes no apology, because Paul claims to be the Apostle of the Gentiles. He notes that most of Christendom gets its basic doctrine from Paul's writings, yet people often refuse to give Paul credit. Les recounts people who detest Paul's writings or question whether Paul should be in the Bible, including a lady in his Oklahoma class who heard someone say you cannot believe anything Paul writes. He says that is stronger than most, but it reflects a subconscious feeling that Paul is far out and should be ignored. Against that, Les insists it is foundational to salvation and the Christian experience to realize what this apostle is saying, and he calls the indwelling Christ a Pauline doctrine, especially for the Gentile believer.
