Les Feldick Bible Study

Does being Jewish give a person special access to the Gospel?

No. On the spiritual level, a Jew is no different from a Gentile: both are sinners in need of saving grace. Being Jewish provides no special privilege to the Gospel and no position that places a person in a better place than a Gentile. The Jew needs salvation just as any Gentile does.

Les explains that on the spiritual level the Jew is absolutely no different from a Gentile tonight. He is a sinner in need of saving grace, has no special privilege to the Gospel, and has no position that puts him in a better place than a Gentile. He is just as much in need of the plan of salvation as any Gentile. Les also notes that even though they are not under the covenant promises tonight, God sovereignly watches over them; otherwise that little nation would have disappeared through assimilation or been annihilated. He illustrates this with a cherished snapshot of Iris watching their three little children at the seashore, comparing it to God’s sovereign watching over Israel.
