What attitude should Christians have toward fellow men in business and dealings?

Christians should deal honestly and fairly with fellow men, providing things honest in the sight of all men. They should not return wrong for wrong or take advantage of others. In business, it is better to charge too little than to overcharge, aiming to be a square dealer.

Les explains that Romans 12:17 moves from gifts within the Body of Christ to our attitude toward those around us, including the community as a whole. The human response when someone does you dirt is to do them dirt in return, but that is not the Christian principle. Instead, believers are to provide things honest in the sight of all men. Les illustrates this by saying he would rather charge $5.00 too little than overcharge by $5.00, because the concept is not to be out to get people or take advantage of them, but to be a square dealer.

Romans 12:17

Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.
