Why should Christians be confrontational?

Christians should be confrontational because the whole armor of God is designed for a frontal attack, not retreat, and believers must stand against the powers in high places. This confrontation is not meant to be obnoxious, but it requires being doctrinally grounded by faith so they can stand firm.

Les explains that Paul often used the Roman soldier as an example, and the soldier’s armor was designed for only one direction: forward. There was no room for retreat or rearguard action; everything was for a frontal attack. He recalls liberals decrying the hymn 'Onward, Christian Soldiers' as too militant and confrontational, and suggests that maybe that is what happened to the church—it lost that confrontational stand. Les teaches that Christians have to be confrontational up to a point, not obnoxious, but able to stand against the powers in high places. This connects to the shield of faith and being doctrinally grounded by faith, rather than emphasizing experience, because experience does not exercise faith.
