What would happen if a whole community actually lived out Romans 12-16?
If a community were 99.9% committed to living out Romans 12–16, it would be the closest place to heaven on earth. Those chapters are ordinary and practical, not strange or fanatical, but people generally will not do it; none of us fully live it out.
Les teaches that Romans 12–16 contains nothing that would take a believer out of the mainstream of the community or make them a kook or oddball. Everything in those five chapters is ordinary and practical. He explains that if people in a community lived out Romans 12–16 at a 99.9% level, that community would be the closest place to heaven on earth. Yet he adds that we won’t do it, none of us do. So the problem is not that these chapters are impractical or bizarre; they are intensely practical, but people fail to live them out.
