Who enhances your understanding of the Bible as you read and study?
The Holy Spirit is the one who enhances your understanding as you read and study the Bible. The teaching is simply presented, and trust is placed in the Spirit to illuminate the Book, which is called the most exciting Book on earth.
Les explains that the approach is not to criticize anyone but simply to teach the Book and let the chips fall where they may. He trusts that the Holy Spirit will enhance the listener's understanding as they read and study, because this Book is the most exciting Book on earth. He then transitions to Romans chapter 12, reminding the audience that chapters 9, 10, and 11 were parenthetical, like a parenthetical statement in an English sentence. When Paul begins chapter 12 with 'therefore,' the reader should go back to see what it refers to, such as the 'no condemnation' of chapter 8.
