Les Feldick Bible Study

What is the best way to study the Bible?

The best way to study the Bible is to compare Scripture with Scripture, since no Scripture is a private interpretation. Doctrine should not be built on isolated verses here and there; instead, use all Scripture from Genesis through Revelation and see that it all fits together, allowing seeming contradictions to fade away through study.

Les teaches that his sessions are an informal study group, not merely preaching; the goal is to help people see what the book says. He explains that the best way to study is to compare Scripture with Scripture, because Peter says in his epistle that no Scripture is a private interpretation. That means a person cannot build a doctrine on one verse here and one verse there, since that method can build anything. Instead, it is our prerogative to use all Scripture from Genesis through Revelation and make sure it all fits. Seemingly contradictions may arise, but through study they fade away and are not contradictory at all.
