How many Jews are there today and where do they live according to Les?
Today there are approximately 15 million Jews. Only three or four million live in Israel itself. The rest remain largely in America, a big contingent of Jews are still in Russia, and various other areas of the world account for the remainder.
Les explains this while discussing Romans 11:26, 'and so all Israel shall be saved.' He is sure the phrase 'all Israel' speaks to a remnant, not the total number of Israelites living on the planet at the time. He then gives the present picture: the number of Jews today is around 15 million, with only three or four million in Israel itself. The rest are still in America, a big contingent of Jews are still in Russia, and various other areas of the world. He goes to Zechariah 13:8-9, the next-to-last book of the Old Testament, to support the remnant idea.
