Why should you study the Bible before criticizing it?
Because the Bible is still a book, and it is inconsistent to criticize or scoff at a book you have never examined. Just as no one would condemn a novel they never read, people should take time to study Scripture before judging it; most judge it without ever looking at it.
Les teaches that the Bible is the most fantastic book ever written, yet most people judge it without ever looking at it. He asks if you have ever commented on a book of fiction you never read or told someone that book isn't worth reading; the answer is no. He then asks why people do that to this book, because it is still a book. All he asks is that before people begin to criticize it and scoff at it, they take some time and study it. The classes are informal, include various denominational backgrounds, do not wear a denominational handle, and simply teach the Word, trusting anyone can become a student of it.
