What will the receiving of Israel be?

The receiving of Israel will be life from the dead. Paul writes in Romans 11 that if Israel's rejection brought reconciliation to the world, then their receiving will be nothing less than resurrection life. This refers to Israel's spiritual restoration, pictured by Ezekiel's dry bones coming back to life.

Les explains that Romans 11 speaks of the reconciling of the world. Christ died for the whole world, not just the believer. Paul asks, if Israel's rejection and the giving over to the Gentile world accomplished this, what will their receiving be but life from the dead? Les ties this to Ezekiel 37, where the valley of dry bones pictures the nation of Israel. They were out of the land, away from temple worship, and blinded, but God brings them back to life. Israel has been returning to their homeland, shaking and rattling, coming back from every nation. The muscle and skin are coming back, but they are still spiritually dead. Les says this is the same analogy Paul uses: the whole nation coming back to the homeland, waiting for the second coming.

For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead?
