What kind of Messiah are the Jewish people Les talked to looking for?
The Jewish people described to the teacher were looking for a Messiah who is a man, but a superman—possessing military strength, economic power, and charisma, able to do all that a superman can do, yet they could not comprehend that the Messiah would be God.
Les explains that the Jewish people he has talked with describe their expected Messiah as a man who is also a superman. They look for someone with military prowess, economic power, and charisma—able to do everything they think a superman can do. They cannot comprehend that the Messiah will be God. Les tells them they are actually describing the Antichrist, but they do not see it. He further notes that they will accept the false king first, because Jesus said another would come in his own name and be embraced.
