Les Feldick Bible Study

Where did nearly all of our technology come from?

Nearly all of our technology came out of Western civilization, which had been predominantly Christian. As the Gospel spread to Europe, that continent became the breeding ground for inventions and men of science, and later America, because Christianity set people free from pagan superstitions.

Les explains that Western civilization exploded and brought a standard of living ten times higher than any other place on earth because of Christianity. As Paul went across the Aegean Sea into Greece, the Gospel went to Europe, and Europe became the breeding ground of all our inventions and men of science. He notes that every bit of it either began on the continent of Europe, in England, or as they came over to America. So all of our technology, almost without exception, came out of Western civilization which had been predominantly Christian. Why? Because Christianity set people free. It loosed them from the superstitions of the pagan world and from all the hang-ups and detriment to women. Les urges us to thank the Lord that we have been brought under this Christian influence rather than under pagan religions that keep people subservient, in ignorance, and in superstition. He says you can go to the library and get history books; it's in there plainly.
