Where does everything originate in the human body?
In the human body, everything originates in the brain, the mind, or the head. The head is the control center from which the fingers, legs, toes, and all other parts receive their marching orders. Paul uses this to illustrate that Christ is the head of the body.
Les explains that Paul consistently uses the human body as an illustration. He asks where everything originates in the operation of our fingers, legs, toes, and everything else, and answers: the brain, the mind, the head. Just as the physical body takes its marching orders from the head, so Christ is the head of the body. Believers are not to get their orders from some denominational hierarchy, but from Christ, who speaks through the Word. This truth helps believers confront deception by knowing the Word and realizing their position in the body.
