How is today's Jewish remnant like the 7,000 in Elijah's day?

Today's Jewish remnant is like Elijah's 7,000 in that God preserves a small minority. In Elijah's day, 7,000 had not fallen to idolatry; in this age of grace, a small percentage of Jews believe the gospel of grace, a remnant according to the election of grace, not law or Judaism.

Les teaches that Scripture contains a doctrine of the remnant, and God has always kept a remnant. Christ's earthly ministry illustrated this with the broad way and the narrow way: the mass of humanity goes the broad way, but the remnant takes the narrow way. Paul explains that with regard to the Jew in this age of grace, which is predominantly Gentile with some Jewish exceptions, there is at present a remnant—a small percentage of Jews who have become believers of the gospel of grace. This remnant is according to the election of grace, not of law or Judaism. Les also notes testimonies of Jews from many backgrounds who came to believe that Jesus of Nazareth was indeed the Messiah who died for their sins. They are a remnant, and very few can believe it, but they are there. Just as Elijah was shown that 7,000 had not fallen to idolatry, so today there is a remnant of Jews who recognize the gospel of grace and the election of grace.
