How many believers were left in Israel during Elijah's time?

During Elijah's time, God reserved seven thousand men in Israel who had not bowed the knee to Baal. Since those men likely had believing wives and children, the total number of Jewish believers in Jehovah may have been about 14,000 to 20,000.

Les explains that Elijah, after fleeing down to Mount Sinai, thought he was the only one left. But God's answer was that He had reserved to Himself seven thousand men who had not bowed the knee to the image of Baal. Les suggests those men likely had believing wives and perhaps some children, so there were probably about 14,000 to 20,000 Jews still believers in Jehovah. This shows that God has always kept His remnant, even when believers seem few.
