What is the toughest thing in Scripture for Les to comprehend?
One of the toughest things to comprehend is that God stretched forth His hands all day long to Israel, a disobedient and gainsaying people. This is difficult because God supernaturally formed Israel, called Abraham, fulfilled the promised son Isaac, and miraculously dealt with His chosen nation.
Les explains that Romans 10:21 is one of the toughest things for him to comprehend in Scripture: God says to Israel, “All day long I have stretched forth my hands unto a disobedient and a gainsaying people.” Les finds it hard because God supernaturally brought about the nation of Israel—calling Abraham out of Ur of the Chaldees, promising to make of him a nation, and fulfilling that promise with the supernatural birth of Isaac. Isaac fathered Jacob, Jacob fathered the twelve sons, they ended up in Egypt, and God began dealing with those Israelites as His chosen, set-apart nation, bringing them out supernaturally with miracle after miracle as they followed Moses.
But to Israel he saith, All day long I have stretched forth my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people.
