What is another way to describe being saved?

Being saved can also be described as having been imputed righteousness. This phrase captures exactly what God has done, as He imputes righteousness to the believer. It moves beyond mere head knowledge to the heart belief that results in righteousness.

Les explains that a good man he was reading suggested that instead of using the word 'saved,' we should say we have been imputed righteousness. Les agrees, saying this is exactly what God has done. He contrasts mere head knowledge—acknowledging Jesus lived, was crucified, and was raised—with true heart belief, which means when Christ died, He died for us; when He was buried, we were buried with Him; and when He arose, we were resurrected to newness of life. Les connects this to Romans 3 and Genesis 1, where God provided animal sacrifices for Adam and Eve, covering the blood aspect and clothing their nakedness with skins, and also references Isaiah 61:10.
