How are we saved?
We are saved by grace through faith, plus nothing. We are not under Law but under grace, and we come under grace by faith, plus nothing. The Law cannot save; it cannot produce miracles. Salvation is not by works of the Law or any works religion.
Les teaches that salvation is by grace through faith, plus nothing, and that this is the whole theme of Galatians. He explains that the Galatians could not perform miracles under the working of the Law; it was impossible. But when the Holy Spirit activated the hearts and minds of those pagan Galatians, it was a miraculous transformation from paganism, idolatry, and immorality into a whole new lifestyle. So the question remains: was a miracle through keeping the Law or through the Spirit activated by faith? The answer is nothing added. Les emphasizes that we are not under Law but under grace, and we come under grace and out from under the Law by faith, plus nothing. He warns not to be suckered into a works religion but to maintain that we are saved by grace through faith, plus nothing.
