Why should talking about the Lord become as natural as talking about the weather?
Talking about the Lord should become as natural as talking about the weather because Christ becomes that big a part of the believer. When Jesus is Lord, salvation means something, and we should be ready to share it with anyone who will listen, giving the hope of our faith when opportunity arises.
Les teaches that people naturally brag about things that mean something to them, such as a good car in high school. If a car is good, they tell others how serviceable it has been, because it matters to them. He asks why believers cannot do the same with their faith and let people know what salvation means to them. He hopes class people, especially in Oklahoma, will reach the place where they can talk about the things of the Lord as easily as they talk about the weather, because it becomes that big a part of them. Paul says that if we have come to the place that Jesus is Lord, we should be ready to share it with anybody that will listen. Les does not ascribe to forcing anything on people or grabbing them by the nape of the neck and shoving it down their throat, because that will not work. But when the Lord gives an opportunity, and someone gives an opening with a word or two, then be ready, as Scripture says, to give the hope of your faith.
