What does the other side of the river of life say after you walk through?
After walking through the river of life and looking back, the other side says “Chosen from before the foundation of the world.” The near shore is lined with “Whosoever will,” while the far side reveals being chosen from before the world’s foundation.
Les explains that the door to the sheepfold was not located on a sheer cliff, across a raging river, or on the other side of the ocean, but right in front of them at ground level, where anybody could walk through. He then points to the river of life: along its shore are the “Whosoever will.” When you walk through it and look back on the other side, it says, “Chosen from before the foundation of the world.” This matches Paul’s point in Romans 10: you do not have to ascend to bring Christ down or bring Him up from the deep; He is right in front of every person. The invitation is open, though the question of those who have never heard the Gospel also comes up.
