Why is Romans 10 used so often for salvation verses when it deals with the Jew?

Romans 10 is often used for salvation because its truths apply equally to Gentiles. Though the chapter addresses the Jew in this present age, salvation is now offered on the same level playing field; Jew and Gentile are alike under sin and equally need salvation, so there is no difference.

Les explains that Romans chapter 10 is dealing with the Jew in this present age, yet everything in it still has application for us. That is why chapter 10 is used so often for salvation verses: salvation is no different for Gentiles than for Jews. Les says salvation is now offered on the same level playing field, so a Jew has no advantage over the Gentile and is not disadvantaged either. Both are alike under sin, both need salvation, and there is no difference. Paul also writes to Gentiles and, in this section, rebuts the common idea that God is through with the Jew.
